It’s a curious thing with “artists”’ statements.

My baker has to make good bread, if she wants to sell it. In fact, you wouldn’t expect a baker’s statement.

The guys who fix my van or tractor don’t do much in the line of statements.

My mother, experienced nurse at many levels – no nurse’s statement, AND no mother’s statement!

No master tailor’s statement from my father.

The cobbler, the teacher, the farmer,  ……. an endless list, really.

What’s this with “artists”?

…and where does that leave us commoners and ordinary mortals?
